We’re coming to the end of our time in England, later this week we’ll be flying back to Hong Kong. Time to open the studio back up, dust the cob webs off the printing press, and get going again – refreshed and ready for Autumn (although we hear it is still 30 degrees and bright sunshine there – our sort of Autumn!) Here are a few of our favourite snaps from our month in the UK, a mix of work and play.
Touched down in the UK & reunited on the Isle of Wight. A lovely first day catching up with Karen after a month apart – lots to talk about as we only had 10 days left until our first show at Top Drawer London – a buying event for UK retailers.
We were treated to the most incredible weather to welcome us home. We visited The Needles, one of the most famous spots on the island and it felt Mediterranean!
Stripy deck chairs, ramshackle beach huts & fresh crab salad followed by homemade New Forest ice-cream – we revisited childhood summer holidays, Famous Five styley …and squeezed in some studio time.
^ Our new brochure arrived (this felt like a Big Moment)
Then it was off to Kensington Olympia to set up for the show. Isn’t it just beautiful!
We set the stand up in record time (note the hand printed fish on the hand painted wall paper) and then Louella Odié was open for business at Top Drawer London.
By day 3 our hands and feet were dropping off with exhaustion, but we were having a wonderful time.
Post trade show, it was time for feasting at Ottolenghi’s in Islington!
**This is my absolute favourite cook book at the moment, this man is a genius.**
Then it was back to the Isle of Wight to work from home and follow up emails from the show. The weather was still stunning so we took every opportunity we could to get out and about and have a couple of family picnics on the downs on the south side of the island. Autumn sunshine doesn’t get better than this.
Now it’s nearly time to go home, the Indian summer is drawing to an end, and with October 1st knocking it is time to fly back to Hong Kong and show our new collection to our friends over there. We’re looking forward to getting back, but leaving with heavy hearts, we love this little island and can’t wait to be back.
